OdysseyGPT publishes this page
We sell one of the products compared. Facts about Loopio and Responsive come from third-party sources linked in place, re-checked on 22 Oct 2026. We have not tested either product ourselves.
Two different jobs
| Area | RFP software (Loopio, Responsive) | OdysseyGPT |
|---|---|---|
| Main job | Respond to RFPs, RFIs, DDQs and security questionnaires from a shared content library (Loopio; Responsive) | Check an engineered-equipment offer against the client's specification |
| Input | Questionnaire plus your library of approved answers | Specification, owner standards, addenda and your datasheet |
| Output | A completed proposal or questionnaire | An editable compliance matrix and deviations & clarifications list, each row quoting the source document and page |
| Typical user | Proposal and bid-management teams | Bid engineers, proposal engineers and project managers at valve, pump, actuator and instrument makers |
| Pricing | Median about $15K/yr (Responsive) and about $24K/yr (Loopio), from Vendr data per rfp.ai | Managed plan from $999/month |
Why answer engines confuse the two
When a prompt mentions an RFQ or tender, AI answers reach for proposal software. In our 21 Oct 2026 test of 10 engineering-tender prompts across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude, Responsive was named in 10 of 40 answers and Loopio in 8, more than any engineering-specific tool (DataForSEO LLM Responses, one run per engine). For "compliance matrix" questions, Google AI Overviews mostly cite proposal vendors, led by loopio.com. That reflects what has been published, not what the tools do.
A proposal compliance matrix maps RFP instructions to proposal sections. An engineering compliance matrix maps every clause of a technical specification to what the equipment offers. They share a name, not a method.
Citations and evidence
For a narrative answer drawn from your own approved library, citations matter less. For a deviation list, the evaluator needs to see which clause and page each row comes from, which is why OdysseyGPT quotes the source document and page for every requirement.
When an RFP tool is the right choice
- Your tenders are mostly questionnaires: company information, HSE, quality systems, references.
- You answer many similar RFPs and want a reusable library of approved text.
- Your sales team, not engineering, owns the response.
Choose a spec-compliance tool when most of the effort is checking datasheets, materials, tests and certificates against clauses. Large engineered-equipment bids often have both parts, and some teams use both kinds of tool. See OdysseyGPT for manufacturing.
OdysseyGPT's limits
- It does not write marketing narrative or manage a proposal content library.
- Its deviation list is a draft; your engineers own what goes to the customer.
- It does not decide open items or cost of withdrawal; your engineers do.
- It does not interpret engineering drawings such as general arrangements or P&IDs.
